Gender & Science Networking Database
  •
  •     We are very pleased to share with you this Gender & Science Networking Database. It has been developed by the Gender Equality Unit of the University of La Laguna (hereafter, UIG-ULL). It is aimed to facilitate communication and network cooperation among entities committed to gender equality inside and outside universities*.
  •
  •     This database allows you to know detailed information of 154 entities committed to gender equality in different global regions (Africa, Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean, and North America). By means of a survey addressed to 1284 entities committed to gender equality, these 154 participant entities have manifest some kind of interest in network cooperation on this field. To the main goal of this project it is also important and useful to make visible the whole set of 1284 entities committed to gender equality that we have found in the different global regions above mentioned. Consequently, the database gives access to their names and classification as a function of global region, country and kind of entity.
  •
  •     Therefore, on the one hand, by means of the type of query called participant entities you can have access to the fact sheets of the 154 entities that answered our questionnaire. Each fact-sheet is linked to the name of the respective entity, offering detailed information about its identification and contact data, its fields of action, its organizational features, and its availability and interests for future network cooperation. Depending on the language/s that each entity chose to answer the questionnaire, the respective fact sheet shows its specific information only in Spanish, only in English, or in both languages.
  •
  •     On the other hand, by means of the type of query called located entities, you will only find the global region, country, kind and name of the 1284 entities that have been located through this project.
  •
  •     In both cases, you can use combinations of database filters that will allow you to select entities according to the categories you choose.
  •
  •     We hope this database will be useful to you. It has been developed with our best wishes to contribute to create synergies towards the fulfillment of real gender equality in science, at universities and in society at large.
  •
  •
  •     The information about the participant entities was updated last Spring 2013. We wish to be able to make future updating as a function of the availability of new financial support. Anyway, the database is ready to be used to promote network cooperation.
